Hello! I am the Head Poppy!

If you would like to join my Poppy Chain (i.e. "Friend Me"), I'd appreciate an introduction. Even if you don't leave one (which is fine), I'll be taking a look at each profile that joins the Chain. Based on what I read there, I'll decide where to put you on my filters and what level of access you have to my world. I am changing. I am excited beyond belief and very grateful of the wonderful journey!

Over the last several months, my identity has been challenged. Mostly, this has focused on how my Alchemist archetype is defined. The Alchemist archetype is wrapped up in my Ego and personality, according to Caroline Myss' Sacred Contracts (it shows up in the 1st house for me). In the pursuit of being able to teach as a tenured professor at some point, I've gone back to (a conventional) school to get (another) Master's degree and then continue on to a PhD, both in Mechanical Engineering. For a long time, the Scientist was the Alchemist. I take much pride in being a scientist (and a nerd!).

But, even as I love it, I've realized that studying "how stuff works" is really just busy work. It's the jigsaw puzzle we do to occupy our time between important things. Being a spiritual person who helps others become self-aware is more and more what being an Alchemist means to me. Alchemy is modernly defined as, "A power or process of transforming something common into something special." I am becoming the Alchemist who is the Priestess. I study so I can help people become more self-aware (not to mention myself!). And so, I am also attending a (non-conventional) school to get a Doctor of Divinity and a PhD in Metaphysics, both probably with some kind of counseling concentration.

Yes, I will eventually have a long string of abbreviations behind my name. *chuckle*
